The City of Brampton has approved a plan to partner with Operator Karl Hale to erect a three court dome over three newly built courts adjacent to the site of Brampton Tennis Club currently operating as a community outdoor summer club. This exciting announcement will bring an additional option for playing year round tennis to the residents of the City of Brampton and York Region at large.  The club will offer instructional clinics, drop in play, and tournaments to allow for a range of options for the residents of Brampton.

Charles Gembes

Charles Gembes has been working as a tennis pro for over 26 years, and at the Brampton Tennis Club for over 10 years. We welcome him to PRC Brampton and look forward a to great winter season.

  • Certified Club Professional, and a Certified Tennis Professional U.S.P.T.R.

  • In the past he has assisted in the Rogers Cup Pro-Am, captained the Brampton Boys Majors Intercounty

  • Team Champions, and coached Alex Mitric (Top 2016 U12 in Ontario)

  • University of Texas, Tyler NAIA National Team Champions 1994 

  • Career best over 35 singles ITF ranking of 21st in the world

  • Ontario men’s over 35 singles champion 2008.

  • Finished ranked 3rd nationally in doubles NAIA 1994

  • Coached Izabella Glinska U12 and Maria Milic U16 to Ontario


TPA Seasonal Facility Excellence Award: Premier Racquet Club

The Tennis Professionals Association is proud to announce the TPA Excellence award to Premier Racquet Clubs Markham. Premier Racquet Clubs is a seasonal winter club with over 700 members. In addition to hosting TPA certification courses and workshops, PRC also engages in its community; in 2022, it provided scholarships for low-income children in the community, partnered with a local school to provide after school tennis programming and ran a charity event for them where over 400 kids from the school participated in a "Tennis-a-thon" that raised over $10,000.
